I was there when they moved from a 270 with IxA attached servers to a
520 with iSCSI attached 1U PCs yes.

It was just two PC servers.

And as I said, they rebuilt them manually rather than trying to migrate them.

That's what a former employer did with IxA servers.  They did it the
hard way, by rebuilding the Win2K3 servers.  IBM does offer a
migration service:
