Thanks for responding Paul & Scott,

I've been so busy today that I haven't had time to respond.

I've tried various combinations of the parameters and none of them would
allow us to connect.

"I stand corrected. SECCNN(*SSL) is FTPES. SECCNN(*IMPLICIT) is FTPS."

I'm using FTP RMTSYS('nnn.nnn.nn.nnn') SECCNN(*SSL)

And when I do connect I get a "234 AUTH command ok. Expecting TLS
Negotiation."

Followed by:

"Secure connection error, return code -23" (which is "Certificate is not
signed by a trusted certificate authority.")

I need to get back into the DCM and see if I can include Network Solutions
(the certificate issuer) as a trusted CA to see if that resolves the
problem.

Regards, Jerry
