Is the file received ok even though it takes too long? Can the .zip file be opened on the other end?
Is there a firewall in between the two servers? I've had problems with an old firewall between the servers requesting a lot of packet retries which slowed down the transfer. The firewall didn't have enough memory & CPU to keep up with the packets sent from the sending server. This could be a communications problem with dropped packets or small block sizes. Try doing a traceroute and see what's in between the two servers.

Has anyone used FTP to transfer .zip files from the IFS to another server. I am having a problem with the file transfer taking an extremely long time to transmit.
