Degraded status usually means that your DASD controller cache battery
has failed, and needs to be replaced. Call your service rep.

Subject: Degraded status in WRKDSKSTS
One of our server went for DASD upgrade as in addition of more disk
units .
After the upgrade was done we are seeing that a set(15) of disks (4326
070/78) are in DEGRADED status controlled by one disk controller
(2780-001)
when we use WRKDSKSTS command. But when i check them using SST they all
are
Active and running fine. The disk Storage Controller is also working
normal
as per SST. There is no affect on performance of the server (595-9406 /
V5R4).
Just curious to know what may be causing WRKDSKSTS to give wrong
information
