Actually, IBM didn't provide a CL command for retrieving envvars... which is why I'm surprised you recommended this technique. Though, the API will certainly work. (Especially from RPG where it's much easier to use!)

Personally, I don't see why envvars are needed here. All this to avoid making a command interface? I'm confused.
