I was responding to how you replied when someone mentioned swapping - you said that adopted authority doesn't work - I connected the 2 - probably incorrectly!

I never said it was, Vern. My point was that giving the objects to, say,
QDFTOWN with a chown(), an fchown(), or a CHGOWN wouldn't work.

I will say that profile swapping isn't as troublesome as I'd initially
thought. But on closer examination, I found another problem with that
option: you can't swap to a disabled profile (but you *can* CHGOWN [and
presumably also chown() or fchown()] an object to it); the only profile
we create currently for this application is a "maintenance and
troubleshooting" profile, and a number of our customers keep it disabled
when not in use.
