Have you looked at the job log for the writer? WRKJOB wtrnam should get you there. Sometimes there are multiples behind the scenes - look at each one.

We have our STRPRTWTR default for AUTOEND changed to (*YES).

But, when a certain customer requests a writer to be started, I want to change that to (*NO). So that the printer stays in RLS/WTR status.

The writer will start, then about 30 seconds later, it will end.

In my research I could not find anything that would cause this.

Here is my CL command:

STRPRTWTR DEV(&PRTNAM) OUTQ(&OUTNAM) MSGQ(&ALNMSG) AUTOEND(*NO)

The Printer, outq, and msgq come out of a menu system record.
