Don't you have to clear the router/switch ARP cache(s) during that switch over? The two cards undoubtedly have different MAC addresses.

Yes, if I try to connect to GDIHQ from any PC in our worldwide domain my
5250 screen may now say
"System . . . : GDIHQ2"
in the upper right. But whether or not the router goes up the pipe to the
old adapter, gives up, and then goes up the pipe to the new adapter and
fixes itself is not my concern.
It works.
