We only do a full dedicated system backup once every other month. Prior
to doing that we perform a switch from our primary system to our backup
system using Mimix HA Lite.

We haven't taken the time to work out the issue with ODBC type connections
yet. 5250 was a snap. Primary does an ENDTCPIFC on the system IP address
and Secondary does a STRTCPIFC. The problem with ODBC is that WRKRDBDIRE
has to be in sync. We figured out how, but renaming your system is not a
task to be undertaken lightly. Luckily we have the same situation with
our development primary and secondary pairs so we'll be able to work it
out there first. Just a matter of time now.

If it's 24/7, you need replication, like iTera, just to name one, then
the backup comes from the backup machine, not the current primary. No
downtime on the primary.
