You can make it work on the same machine but you'd have to have the
option installed.

It looks like we need to install something.  I found a reference that
says it is a part of ObjectConnect, 5722-SS1 option 22. But it also
implied that it was for copying across LPARs.  And I don't think we do
much, if anything with APPN or SNA.  So for my occasional copies, it
probably isn't worth pursuing.

But conceptually it sounds nice, if the restore starts shortly after the
save starts.
