The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Yes, being able to launch it via the browser would be nice. What would be
really nice is to be able to remotely start the session on the hmc itself.
Let me explain. Right now if a shared session is already running on the
hmc I can connect it remotely and all is well. Comes in real nice like
the weekend I did full system saves and what not while sitting around a
campfire (and down at the beach) at the local state park with my laptop
tethered to my blackberry. What's not cool is if the session is NOT
already started and you remotely start a shared session and disconnect (I
get to swim also). When you reconnect, if you were in the middle of
something you have to reconnect, and the process was aborted.
A related scenario: Shared session was started. You connect in remotely
and fire off a RCLSTG. Connect it later and it's done so you start full
system save. Connect in later and you pwrdwnsys and then you power off
the whole frame to 'activate' a firmware upgrade. This kills your shared
session. So you start a new one and start a long process. Then you
disconnect. Since the shared session wasn't started on the hmc itself you
session has issues with it and aborts.
Another time this bit me was doing a client guested lpar remotely from
Common Directions in Dallas and having the OS install cancel because I
disconnected. Workaround there was to call gal at site and have her start
shared session on hmc.
Other workaround would be to put a KVM splitter (with remote capability)
on the hmc and ensure that the share session is started before trying to
access it remotely via the 2300 process.
