Pete,

You are right, of course. I seemed to remember some issues when we did our
V4R5-->V5R1 conversion, regarding the observability property of some
third-party programs. We restored our *PGM with FRCOBJCVN(*YES) , and one of
our software providers had some really old code with observability removed.

I can't see what the issue is with Observability, as that is only an issue
going from CISC to RISC or crossing over the V6R1 boundary (5.4 to 6.1 or
5.4 to 7.1).

Hi,

As always, I think that the first thing to do should be checking the Memo
to
Users manuals of the releases you are going thru (V4R5--> V5R4). Also,
IIRC,
there are some observability issues in going from V4R4 to V5Rx. If your
programs were compiled without observability you can have som problems.

Dear All,

One of our customer is buying a new box with V5R4 and he is in V4R4. My
question is can his application be run without any compilations.
