You could pull out the big hammer = STRJOBTRC - take a look at its help text. It uses the TRCJOB command. Take a look at that help text, too. You can see the call trace in the output of these. There are also ENDJOBTRC and PRTJOBTRC - the former saves the trace records into a DB file. The latter gives you printed output.

Basically, a report showing:

Initial program: PGMA
PGM A
* PGMA1
* PGMB1
** PGMB3
** PGMC3

Here, PGM A calls PGM A1 and B1. PGM B1 calls B3 and C3.

We use Aldon for source control, but only for the few vendor programs we
modify.
