Does Model 170 running V5R2 support 6384 Tape Drive

We need a new tape drive for our old 170 I would like to get
one that is compatible with all of our other machines (They
all have 6384's)

Will a 6384 tape drive work in a model 170 running V5R2?

If yes, is this something I can do fairly easily myself or
will I need to pay our hardware maintenance company to
install and configure it?
