Makes me wonder if the

second period was the end of the sentence, or someone entering a decimal
twice.

Just curious - what does it matter if they type 15.0000? That is
effectively an integer with far too many extra keystroke, that's all in
one way of looking at it!!

In other words, what does this accomplish?
