When you get those codes in the 3000 range, there are messages that can give a little more information. Just cobble up a message ID that starts with CPE (E for error, perhaps?) and put the number after it. In this case,

DSPMSGD CPE3474

I see you solved things but this is a good tip to know that I use all the time.
