The first parameter you pass to 'find' tells it which directory to look in. Try doing something like this:

find /home /usr /tmp /QOpenSys /QDLS -name qpwdsync.log -type f

I realize that this is more cumbersome than telling it to exclude something, but... I don't know of a way to do that with 'find'.
