It's a part of our Lawson application and that's all that we use it for.
Lawson has tools to add Lawson users to the LDAP and tie them to our user
profiles but other than that, we don't touch it.

Thanks. What do you add/modify in your ldap that IBM doesn't
automatically handle? We're only using it for Tivoli Identity Manager to
propagate passwords between Active Directory, i, etc.

Rob -

We export the directory to an LDIF file weekly. Our recovery is to follow

the IBM instructions to recreate QUSRDIRDB then restore from the most
recent
LDIF. The only drawback that I see is that creating the weekly LDIF file
is
a manual process.

This approach avoids any locks incurred by a SAV and avoids objects
damaged
by the SAV process.

Anyone see a reason to save QUSRDIRDB daily?

For the longest time ldap wasn't working on this lpar. Now that it is,
SAVLIB *ALLUSR is hurling on
Cannot use USRSPC QGLDLOCK in QUSRDIRDB.
Other than change the whole shooting match to save while active I
thought
of adding this library to the omit list.

Why wasn't ldap working before? Because a file in that library was
damaged and there was no backup so we followed IBM's stock instructions
of

CLRLIB QUSRDIRDB, fire up iNav, Network, Servers, TCP/IP, right click on
IBM Tivoli Directory Server for i5/OS, select Reconfigure.

So recreating it doesn't sound like any big shakes.
