One answer why that may not be feasible Rob; Bandwidth. I think we need to watch that very carefully. Communications could actually get more expensive than the system if care is not taken. This is not an IBM i problem nearly as much as it is an entire infrastructure problem. Add in the licensing Ts&Cs and you have a real brain twister.

There is movement on the IBM side, stay tuned.......

Who says the hosting company has to do the backup? I helped out one shop
and their windows platform was offsite in some guarded facility. They had
to do their own backups over the wire. Saving to virtual tape and ftping
that around shouldn't be out of the question.
