You could do this with prepare and execute. Sometime in your life you may
have to. However there is some advantage to avoiding this. One is that
some information is actually stored in the program about SQL accesses. And
prepare and execute aren't as helpful. A workaround is this
declare cursor c1 as
select ...
from ...
where col1 is between :x and :y
and col2 is between :a and :b
order by ...
Now, let say your screen has the option where x is item class. Now they
can put in one item class or they can put in *ALL. If they put in one,
then set x and y both to that value. If they put in *ALL then set x to
loval and y to hival.
Understand?
Check the changed date on your program after the compile but before any
executions. Check it again after the execution.
