RE: You don't exist.

In my earlier message, please ignore the "mailto" thing.
That was not in any of the QSH and wasn't even in the original e-mail message that I sent.

My e-mail server interpreted "tsu8v5s6@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx" as an e-mail address inside the body of my e-mail,
converted it into a hyperlink and added the "mailto."

Oh, why can't PCs and their software act a little bit more like AS/400s?
AS/400s don't unexpectedly convert things to hyperlinks and add the words "mail to" when I didn't put them there.

Isn't mailto: used for sending an email from an HTML client? I find the
response from the server curious but the mailto: is really throwing me.
So you are using sftp to send an email?

Or perhaps I really don't understand what you are attempting here.

I have heard that this problem occurs when the user ID is more than 8 bytes, but that by putting the user profile ID in the QSH command in the QSH command (TSU8V5S6) in the CL program should solve that problem.

Just about all our user id's are more than 8 characters, including the one I'm calling this program from,
but we were made to understand that by pointing it to another user profile in the QSH command that would solve that problem.

Is that still the problem or might there be something else?

Tell me you're not trying to connect to an IBM-supplied, IBM-supported
server running on a 400, or that the message is coming from some
user-supplied exit program.

This is a standard error message from 5733-SC1, which is a port of an
ancient version of OpenSSH that's riddled with security holes.
