I'm writing a script to make some test data and I'm using
RUNSQLSTM to process it. I'm at the point where I want to insert
some columns that are NULL. As in:
INSERT INTO PAYROLL (EMP, TERM_DATE) VALUES (12345, NULL)

I think the only way to do this is indirectly, with NULLIF or CASE...END. Like VALUES(12345,NULLIF(0,0)) There's no way to
specify the pseudo-literal NULL is there?

NULLIF works but it just seems...inelegant.

The pseudo-literal of NULL [or similarly use of DEFAULT when NULL is default] works fine for me. For example:

<code>

create table cp
(cust int not null
, primary key (cust)
,p1 int default 1
,p2 int default null
)
;
insert into cp values
(1, 11, default)
,(2, null, null)
;
call qcmdexc('runqry *none cp', 0000000015.00000)
;
-- end of script

-- output from RUNQRY:
Line ....+....1....+....2....+....3....+....4
CUST P1 P2
000001 1 11 -
000002 2 - -
****** ******** End of report ********
