My own experience with keypunches is rather limited: while I was working
a couple of summer jobs at the high school from whence I'd graduated,
they installed a 4341, running the McGill University MUSIC operating
system, and the only way to send output to the line printer was to
submit it as a batch job. On Hollerith cards. Fortunately, the decks
could call a program that was already on the system, and so they only
needed to be about 7-8 cards thick.
