If all you are needing to do is get a spool file to a pc printer, it is easy. Microsoft (I am assuming the pc runs Windows, Linux makes this a tiny bit easier) includes LPD (referred to as Unix printing or TCP/IP) on the installation disk. Not all that obvious to find. This allows the pc printer to be a network printer. Since it runs as a service, the only requirement is that the computer and printer be turned on. To use this as a network printer, you only need to enable sharing and select a share name. On the i, set up a standard remote output to queue using the IP address of the pc with the attached printer.

I have set this up several times. Too many people where I work seem oblivious to this. They appear to want users to buy network aware printers to replace their USB printers. Not necessary, as Windows handles the spooling just fine, with help from LPD.

Linux has this capability built in.

Booth,

Helpsystems.com has a product we use called eSend. Sends in a .txt,
pdf, .html and you can create rules to send certain pages to certain
people.

Well... the answer is "no." I sure can't.

The real question is "can a spool file be sent to a PC folder?"

Right now we open Ops Navigator and drag & drop the output that way,
but I would very much like to automate the step.
