You shoulda heard the support line customer sat manager when I told her that
IBM was losing business because the company is now being run by wet behind
the ears MBA's who can't wipe their butts without a mouse in their hand, and
that they manage on a quarter by quarter basis instead of a five year plan.

She sounded like Obama without his teleprompter. Um, ah, I, I, uh, uh.

Another fix - make that 3 months - and IBM (not i) know about doing that
with their bottom line and hiring and firing practices. 3-month plans
make for difficult project management!!

Fixed it for you:

The whole IT industry is in a state of "jump ship to whatever technologies
give me the most ROI in the next 3 quarters"

Very interesting.

Check out this article also: *http://www.sdtimes.com/link/33584*

Note that in it Microsoft is *attempting* to create a stateful programming
environment on the server.

I just wrote an article for IBMSystemsMag that calls out the fact that
Microsoft is just learning about these benefits and is using them as
selling
points, when IBM i has had them for decades but does zero advertising for
the features (that are time tested btw!).

... and all the while IBM continues to pursue open source and loosely
couple
technologies as the "way of the future" when they could just enhance some
of
the stuff they *fully own* to completely wipe out most all other servers
and
their capabilities. And make A LOT of money while doing it. The whole IT
industry is in a state of "jump ship to whatever technologies give me the
most ROI in the next 3 years" mode and IBM should capitalize on that with
IBMi.
