How tables get created is important for all the reasons you point out, but
I
don't think we should start calling SQL created PF's tables and DDS
created
PF's files, do you ?

I don't mean to be pedantic (always wanted to use that word <g>), but there
are enough differences that maybe we should.

Another difference between a DDL created table and a DDS created PF is that
the table can have one and only one member. That's been discussed here
before, but I don't think it was mentioned in this thread.
