I am upgrading from V5R4 to V6R1. I have the CD/DVD set ( I_base_01, B2924_01 and 02, F_multi_NLV ).
I listened to the Common session by Mr Massiello, and went over the handout. I have checked the PTF's listed in II14310 ( there is some confusion between SI28697 and SI35849).
I loaded the CD/DVD's into the image catalog, went through the 'Prepare to Install' options, the images in the catalog look right, software agreements all accepted.
When I verify, I get failure. Required image for type *upgrade not found in image catalog.
Reason 2 says 'An i5/OS image was not found'
Have I failed to investigate the PTF's completely?
When I tried to ptf copy SI35849 ( I already have SI28697 and the other 2 listed on II 14310 ) , it will not copy with the msg, either the PTF is already applied or the requisite product is not installed.
I'm sure it is just a step in the process that I am not getting.
