Rob,

It seems there is a V6R1 PTF in order to describe thar error better
(APAR SE31983)
************************************
APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
SQL0901 SQL System error message can occur when adding a check
constraint whose expressions contains function that is not
supported.   Message CPD438C "function not supported" diagnostic
message is in the joblog followed by SQL0255, CPF32B0 and
finally SQL0901.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE31983 :
-----------------------------
Code has been modified to send a CPD32B0 diagnostic along with
the CPF32B0 escape so SQL can send a more meaningful message.

Hope this helps...

CPD438C - Function not supported. Reason code 15.
DSPMSGD stops at 12.
SQL0255 - Message . . . . :   Function not supported for query.  Cause . .
. . . :   The reason code is 15.
DSPMSGD stops at 12.

So, how do I find out what reason code 15 is?
