Try the "Cold Start" that Kenneth suggested. Instructions are at:

Subject: RE: MQ Subsystem?

Thanks, I forgot about the subsystem. However, now I am getting a new
error:

Message ID . . . . . . : AMQ6109
Date sent . . . . . . : 25/11/09 Time sent . . . . . . :
15:38:01

Message . . . . : An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred.

Cause . . . . . : An error has been detected, and the MQ error
recording
routine has been called.
Recovery . . . : Use the standard facilities supplied with your
system to
record the problem identifier and to save any generated output files.
Use
either the WMQ Support site:
http://www.ibm.com/software/integration/wmq/support/, or IBM Support
Assistant (ISA): http://www.ibm.com/software/support/isa/, to see
whether a
solution is already available. If you are unable to find a match,
contact
your IBM support center. Do not discard these files until the problem
has
been resolved.
Technical Description . . . . . . . . : None.

I wonder if it has something to do with me trying to do a cold start as
well as a base re-install....

Thanks.

Is subsystem QMQM running? Try a STRSBS and see if that makes the
problem go away. And yes, job queue QMQM should be associated (as part
of the install) with subsystem QMQM. Note that the subsystem description
is in library QMQM, where most system related SBSDs are in QSYS.

Hi All,

We did an IPL of our box a few nights ago and for some reason it
killed our install of MQ (which is still in testing - thank goodness).

When I try to start the queue manager, I get a message telling me that

"Websphere MQ is waiting for a job to start". This message will
persist for quite a while before it kaffs out with some other error.

Checking the details on the message, I get this:

Message ID . . . . . . : AMQ7164
Date sent . . . . . . : 25/11/09 Time sent . . . . . . :
14:54:50

Message . . . . : WebSphere MQ is waiting for a job to start.

Cause . . . . . : WebSphere MQ has been waiting 0 seconds to start
job
AMQZXMA0 for Queue Manager: QMSPS
Recovery . . . : Check that the job queue that is associated with
job
description QMQM/AMQZXMA0 is not held and that the appropriate
maximum active jobs value in the job queue entry is sufficent to
allow the job to start. Check that the subsystem that is associated
with the job queue is active and has a sufficient value specified for

the maximum number of jobs that can be active at the same time.

I checked the job queue for QMQM and there is no subsystem associated
with it. My question is - is that expected? I think it's getting
hung up trying to start the subsystem, but there's none attached.

So I tried a cold start and a reinstall of the base app but nothing
has resolved the issue...

I tried to call IBM, but for some reason their line has been busy all
day....what's up with that?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.
