Thanks Charles,

Reading the additional posts has got me wondering if part of the problem 
was the shebang pointing to #!/bin/sh.  I may have had the same issue as 
Brian since I vaguely recall installing bash and changing another script 
to #!/bin/bsh.  I might have removed the link to sh.  Not sure, but now 
that I am thinking about it, I need to research and document it for my 
own sanity.
