Thanks Bruce.

You are correct in that the web site is using UTF8. I am leaving the CCSID as a default of 00819.

Is there a different CCSID I can use that would fix the problem?
Or, could I ask the web site to use a different encoder?

Sheri

Based on your results it would appear that the web site is using UTF8 to
encode the file and you are FTPing the file based on "standard" ASCII (ISO
Latin 1, CCSID 819). In UTF8 the latin small letter e with acute is x'C3A9'.
In ISO Latin 1 x'C3' is latin capital letter A with tilde and x'A9' is the
copyright sign. UTF8 is CCSID 1208. I can't tell from your note what CCSID
you want on the i.

Hi,

I am FTPing an XML file from our web site to our iSeries and when the file
arrives on the iSeries the French accents are changed. I have tried a bunch
of different CCSID'S but still can't get it to work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here is what is on the web site

<ship_to_address2> Montréal </ship_to_address2>

Here is what I get on the iSeries

<ship_to_city> Montréal </ship_to_city>

TIA.

Sheri
