RE: AS400 having issue with smtp

Have you tried not relaying through the exchange server? Take the exchange server out of the mail gateway and let the iseries SMTP server contact the remote domain itself. Even just to prove that it is the exchange server getting in the way. If you can prove the iSeries SMTP config is working properly that way maybe the Exchange admin will admit that there is something wrong with his config. You would need to open a firewall port to your iSeries SMTP temporarily to run this test.

But when I sent a test to an outside email it never makes it to the  
exchange server.  Never shows in the exchange transaction logs,  
internal email test do show.
