Mike, thanks for the reply.

How can I go in the 400 and check the 400's SMTP settings. Not sure
it
is even started.

I am not to knowledgeable on the 400 side of things, but I would like
to
check, while I wait for a call back from their AS400 contractor.

Thanks All

It sounds like the iseries is setup fine since you can prove it can
send
locally. If you have the mail gateway pointing to exchange then all
mail
will go there. There is a setting on most SMTP servers (exchange in
this
case) that is there to stop the SMTP server from being a relaying
agent
for another SMTP server. The iSeries SMTP server is pointing to the
Exchange SMTP server and so exchange is going to look at it like a
relay. Ask the exchange admin if they have Exchange set to not allow
relays. It may be possible to whitelist the iseries to allow relaying

On this forms package the email piece simply uses the exchange servers
SMTP. So it piggy backs off the exchange server.

We can send a test email to an internal email and it is received, but
the outside email does not even make it over to the exchange server,
like we never even sent it.

We recently had an SMTP problem and needed to clear all SMTP data in
order to get it to work. Did this process...

/* END MSF and SMTP Server */
ENDMSF OPTION(*IMMED)
ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*SMTP)

DLYJOB DLY(300) /* 5 minutes */

/* Load data area to clean */
CRTDTAARA DTAARA(QUSRSYS/QTMSCLEAN) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(1) +
VALUE('c') AUT(*ALL)

/* START SMTP and MSF Server */
STRTCPSVR SERVER(*SMTP)
STRMSF MSGOPT(*CLEAR)

Hello John,

Yes we are working with Acom. I'm just trying to help in finding a
solution as well.

The customer we are working with has no IT staff, and it is really
difficult to work with some of their contract 400 and NT workers.
Acom
says it their server config that is wrong and their IT contractors are
saying it is the software.

I'm just trying to do what I can to help aid in finding a working
solution.

I have installed the Acom software on my as400 with no issues.

The server we are working on is an old domino server, could the
settings
from the old domino be interfering with the relay between the 400 and
exchange server?

We have gotten 3447 errors when sending test emails. Acom has been
looking into that.

Thanks for all the replies.

-Jon

Robert,

I believe your company is a reseller Partner of the Acom software.
Have you tried calling Acom and asking them?

John

Importance: High

We are implementing a forms package from Acom that emails/faxes
various
forms from the AS400.

The email config is very basic, SMTP IP and user/PW are required. All
the correct settings are in place.

When we try a test message, only internal domain tests are received.
What's weird is that outside emails don't even make it to the exchange
server.

This 400 was and old lotus notes domino server, all lotus/domino
software has since been uninstalled.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We seem to be at a
total
standstill.
