Why two machines? If it's production and development then I strongly
suggest LPARs instead. If it's for DR then stick with two machines.

You'll find that LPARs will significantly reduce hardware and software
expense.

However if you need a bigger box because you are running LPARs and you are
using EDI you'll find that some of the EDI vendors are really pricey for
different box sizes. Either way, if you are running EDI some of the
vendors are going to charge you your first born male child just to move
from the old box to the new, regardless of any size.
