Yes, like the object conversion needed with V6R1. That really showed
the IBM i community who the lazy ISVs are.


Do you have any idea how few applications were affected by this, Lukas?
My product doesn't have a single program that required anything more
than a recompile. The overwhelming majority of programs don't require
anything else. Whereas whenever a new release of Microsoft comes out,
you need a 6-12 month beta cycle just to get programs to work again. No
additional benefit, mind you, just to get them to run. What a
phenomenal waste of global IT resources, resources that could be better
spent writing new software.

You can complain all you want about the things IBM doesn't do right, but
when it comes to protecting legacy investment, Microsoft doesn't have a
pot to piss in.
