FWiW the SAVSAVFDTA command on each SAVF is generally considered /better/ than a SAVLIB or SAVOBJ [of course with SAVFDTA(*YES)] of the save files, in order to enable more direct recovery. That is noted just in case that option of saving the save file data [with label & sequence number to sequential media] was unknown to anyone reading the quoted text. As well there is virtual tape which can be used similarly to make media from which restore\recovery can be done directly.
