As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
If you're open to recommending other vendor products we have a tool
called DataExport/400 that can be used to export any iSeries table in
Excel format.

I just got this question from a customer, and it's not something can
recall ever dealing with myself, other than maybe cutting and pasting
from QuestView running in an emulation session:
It seems they need to get an Excel file from a database file, apparently
being filtered through a query of some sort (whether it's SQL, OPNQYRF,
Query/400, or whatever, they didn't say).
What can they use for this purpose?
