So duplication of time stamps are not a concern because there is not a
"time swap backward"?

I believe the answer is that the OS slows down the clock, so that by
2am on an unchanged clock, the time on the box is only 1am. I believe
it starts the slowdown at midnight. So in other words, it takes 2hrs
to move from midnight to 1am.
But for the life of me, I can't find confirmation of that.
