SOMEONE please explain to me where this will print out?? I have
an HTML (Intranet) menu option which calls a net.data macro
which fires off the RUNQRY command. The QUERY has the Printer =
*PRINT setting as there is not one general printer at which this
will be able to print.

The *PRINT special value implies the print\spool of the query report writer is to be deferred to the printer device file *NLVLIBL/QPQUPRFIL, which has attributes [optionally overridden] for DEV() to name the printer device, OUTQ() to name the output queue, and SPOOL() to determine if the data is to be spooled or written directly to the printer device. The Query/400 help text implies the *PRINT means the "printer defined for the job", however that text reflects best, only the defaults whereby the device file will have OUTQ(*JOB) DEV(*JOB); the help text does not attempt to drill down to the /nitty gritty/ details.

To get the desired spooling characteristics, it is best to define those in a prior request to OVRPRTF QPQUPRFIL *FILE OUTQ(x) DEV(y) SPLFOWN(z) OVRSCOPE(*CALLLVL) etc. There is only limited capability to set spooling attributes within the query definition [*QRYDFN) object itself, or as parameters on the RUNQRY command.
