And that is just one of the things wrong with numbered indicators.
Unless I have missed something, you have no alternative to numbered
indicators. Perhaps you can split a panel into two panels visible at
the same time. Then you augment exfmt with a write/read pair, and with
indicator swapping of course. Ugly, but I *think* it should work.
