At our company most people go home by 17:00.
At 23:00 each night before we run these commands:
ENDSBS QINTER
ENDHOSTSVR SERVER(*DATABASE) \
ENDPJ SBS(QUSRWRK) PGM(QZDASOINIT) OPTION(*IMMED)
Then we run sales invoicing and other financial jobs in a dedicated mode
without the risk of some jobs locking files.

It surprises me how some QINTER sessions are still active at 23:00 even
though the user left at 16:00, probably closing the 5250 window (iSeries
Access) without actually signing off from the system. As we are a JD
Edwards World environment, users always have programs J98ININTA,
J98INITV, and P00MENU in their call stack.

At 17:00 I set system value QINACTITV to 30 minutes from 300 minutes, so
I would expect inactive jobs to end by 18:00 or so.
Yet these orphaned jobs are still active at 23:00.
ENDSBS QINTER does kill these orphaned jobs but I wonder why these
orphaned jobs stay active till 23:00
