I am trying to automate a save of our IFS web server files on i5/OS. I have
V5R4 installed on the i, and am trying to send the files to an array of
disks attached to a network. This array has an address and the name
"Storage". When I create a folder under QNTC I can see the array and the
folders on the array. I can copy to the array from my PC and from qShell
with the CP fromFile /Storage/MIS/Saves/TEST folder. The size of the file
being copied is 4.5 GB.

What I am unable to do is to create a folder on the disk array from i5/OS.
When I try the mkdir shell command or the MD cl command I get the following;

mkdir
'/qntc/storage/mis/Saves/test'

mkdir: 001-2128 Error found creating directory /qntc/storage/mis/Saves/test.
Unknown system state.

The folder does not exist, and is not created when the command is run.

How can I create a directory from i5/OS? I would like to create a folder on
the fly with a name of my choice that may include the current date and time.

Thanks!

Jim
