When we try to delete a directory in the IFS from Vista drive map to
the IFS and that directory contains objects or other directories we get
the error from Windows.... "You need permission to perform this
action". If we go to the lowest level object file delete them and work
our way back up the structure we can delete everything which tells me

qsh
cd <wherever just above the directory>
# be sure I'm in the right place - measure once, cut twice
pwd
rm -Rf <the directory>
exit

That's nice, Pete, but I think Mike was looking for a Windows solution. (I
know that if I'd have asked, it's what I would be seeking.) There must be a
way to do this without signing on to the system (and certainly without a
command-line access), as there is with most other network filesystem
accesses. Note that my remotely mounted drives from Linux (Samba) and from
other Windows servers on the network work fine... but I share the iSeries
issue that Mike describes.
