The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

With SOA such as System-Link for XA the user authentication is
integrated into the XML request/response. Other, more general ways of
authentication could be done via a SOAP envelope. I am not familiar
with the iSeries web service architecture but one way could be via a
proxy .NET web service that would only forward requests to the iSeries
if the credentials have been satisfied.
What is this web service you are running? Can the security be built
into the client web-service front end?

Subject: Integrated Web Server Authentication
Hi All,
I have a web service that is running under the
integrated web server. The service will be called from .Net clients on
our local intranet. I need the web service on the i to be able to
identify the user that is connecting to the service so that only valid
users can access it.
Does anyone have any experience with this or could
someone point me in the right direction to start?
Thanks for any help ...
- Steve
