Why should this be a big deal? We are just talking about E13B, aren't we?
The details have slipped from my increasingly feeble memory, but
in an earlier life I had memorized the nominal dimensions and
allowable tolerances for each stroke of each character. There
was not much to it.
Of course, this was in an office with printing, a projection
microscope, and a magic device that measured the magnetic
strength of a character. And--lest we forget--that marvellous
device, the Friden Flexowriter and edge-punched cards. Okay,
I'll go back into my hole now.
