I have not tried reading the bytes into a stream...

Here is a Remark from the CWBX docs ( CWBX.hlp / Data Manip / String
Converter) : The byte array will be converted up to the first null (0)
byte.

(it converts up to the first NULL byte then it stops)

Odd, there's nothing in the GetBytes or Convert method that bails on a
null byte that I can see. Are you sure that's the result you're getting.
How are you calling it, can you post actual code?
