The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
I guess the implication I was trying to make was that people assume there
is little or no support with an open source or free application.
Our 'market', small though it may be, is one with high expectations.
People expect everything associated with their i to carry the same quality
and reliability as the i. And they may even expect the support to be on
par with IBM.
That kind of thought process is what lead me to the supposition that a
commercial product (maybe the 'shareware' concept should be dropped) might
gain more traction than a totally free product.
PS - I am a user of many of your tools, and have definitely seen the level
of support you provide -- and the level of support people seem to expect
for your tools. Your patience can be amazing at times.

You seem to imply that shareware means that no technical support is
expected by the end-user. In my experience, the end-user always expects
technical support with anything... (including code snippets given as an
example in a magazine!)
