Here, we use an AVOCENT KVM switch with the DSVIEW software. This way we
can access the HMC like if we were in front of it. Works very well.

I really like the remote capability of V7 of HMC. However, is there
something like PC Anywhere or Dameware that will run on it?
I am trying to ensure that the 5250 console session is completely
logged
in. Not waiting at hmc user id and password or waiting on session key.
Doing so would provide a more robust terminal. Hard to check remotely.
I
am running into problems when I use a remote 5250 and find out that the
session dies when I disconnect remotely and try to reconnect. Nothing
like those "load source errors" to put the fear of God into you when
you
disconnect the session during a RCLSTG (and can't reconnect so you IPL
as
per IBM support).
