The prompt control (PMTCTL) established the visibility based on some condition. Now add a dependency (DEP) statement for each of those /mandatory/ parameters, enforced for the same condition, to effect an error when its parameter value is the default; e.g. DEP CTL(&ACTION *EQ 1) PARM(&EXPDATE) ...

IIRC the only worthwhile documentation was in the CL Programmers Gd.
