Conjecturing from this reference:

and more importantly this excerpt:

====================================================================
Note: During the IPL, system reference code C9002967 could be
displayed for an extended amount of time. This is normal
(assuming the processor light flashes periodically). You may
also notice two power down sequences, with a change in the IPL
side that is displayed.

I'd say just wait it out. Either it'll finish, or IBM support will get back
to you.

Subject: IPL hangs at C900 2967, PTF SI30387 on a V5R4 system

Hi all,

I'm at a customer right now, trying to get his system from V5R4 CUM
Level 06xxx to 09104. A 9405-520.

Unfortunately, the system hangs during installation of i5/OS PTF,
namely at SRC C900 2967, mentioning that it is installing PTF SI30387.
The clock at the top right is no longer moving forward - by now, it's
about one hour since the last time it was refreshed.

Right now, i'm waiting on a callback from IBM Support, but as always
this can take it's sweet time.

I already did the first IPL for the prereq PTFs, which worked without
a hitch. Then came the second IPL, which took quite some time during
C600 4301, which is normal. But now, the clock has stopped moving
forward.

I'm worried, this hasn't happened before. I've checked the appropriate
guide at:

http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/sline003.NSF/2d3aff1c6b4d6ce086256453000d97
1e/b3b492000cef6d1b8625710e0073b543?OpenDocument

But there is no PTF marked defective here.

I've installed exactly the same CD packages on a 270 and on a 515,
where it worked without issues.

This is the first time i've had a problem like this, and IBM hasn't
called back in the last 30 minutes, so i'm unsure on how to proceed.
Any idea, i'd be thankful :)
